Excuse me, do you have any cobra snake neckties?
Seeing as my local M&S is refusing to sell eggs or flour to schoolboys this week, I thought you might like to seek alternative fun with The Colonel's Halloween Mix. Ten topical top tunes & terrifying sound effects, all stuck together in one half hour programme - and it disappears after tomorrow. Hopefully, you can annoy someone at work with it, or stick it on your ipods for the journey home. It is 47 miles of barbed wire, after all.
1: Screamin Jay Hawkins - Whistling Past The Graveyard
2: Link Wray - Creepy
3: Sam The Sham - JuJu Hand
4: The 5 Jones Boys - Mr Ghost Goes To Town
5: The Woolies - Who Do You Love
6: Jackie Morningstart - Rockin' in The Graveyard
7: The 5 Blobs- The Blob
8: Tami Lynn - Mo Jo Hanna
9: Cher - Walk On Gilded Splinters
10: Julie Driscoll/Brian Auger Trinity - Season Of The Witch

who'svoodoodoyoudo?
Having a listen right now, PM.
The master of all obscure genre rarities is Nick Brown from Notting Hill's Intoxica Records. Who doesn't sell CDs in his shop.
(The only radio show guest I've ever heard do a cat theme and get away with all unheard obscurities. He deserves his own show).
If you ever catch him guesting on Sean Rowley's BBC London Sat midnight show, it's well worth it. Ignore any reservations about Guilty Pleasures, this is The radio show of the week. As it happens, I've just checked my inbox and last Saturdays playlist is in there - and Nick was doing the annual Halloween spot. (and still nobody's chosen Lavern Baker's Voodooo, Voodoo...)
Look at this lot;
The Executioners - The Guillotine (Sunburst).
Jan Davis - Watusi Zombie (Holiday)
Big Ja Mc Nelly And Band - Psycho Serenade (Swingin').
Betty Lavett - Witch Craft In The Air (Lu-Pine).
Kid Thomas - The Wolf Pack (Federal).
Johnny Winter - Voodoo Twist (Frolic).
The Interiors - Voodoo Doll (Worthy).
Jimmie Hombs With The Invictas - Voo Doo Dolly (Jack Bee).
The Kingsfive - Voddoo Man (Trophy).
Buster All Stars - Haunted Room (Blue Beat).
Johnny Fuller - Haunted House (Specialty).
Suzie Jane Hokom - Need All The Help I Can Get (MGM).
Buddy Morrow And His Orchestra - The Raven (RCA).
Frighty Night Is Music Night
CP love that mix - a real 50's Drive In Voodoo vibe about it
I'll have to check out the Sean Rowley show, sounds packed full of sizzlers. I usually lend an ear to the Craig Charles Soul and Funk show 6 - 9 Saturday evenings BBC6.
Here's part 2 of grave shaking grooves in a Mondo mini Mix
Frighty Night Is Music Night click to download

More blood on the tracks
PM, that show stays up on BBC Listen Again until the next Sunday. I'm too old to be up at midnight... here's the link for the one with the Halloween tunes, so you can have a listen to them right now with the forward button.

I'd get yourself on the email list for the show, so you know what to expect before you tune in. Also, take a peek at the Reverend Frost blogspot. He likes a Halloween mix, too.
Thanks for the tip off
I'm buzzing for that one Colonel and be downloading and getting on the mailing list soon as I finish typing this.
Have you heard the new Bongolian CD 'Outer Bongolia'? Very good and fizzing with winners
Or the Mark Vidler(Go Home Productions)blog/podcast

It's a gem - only 2 episodes so far but both have been extremely tasty
