End of an era...

...or hopefully just a short interruption. Danny Federici has had to take a leave of absence from the E Street Band to pursue treatment for melanoma. Anybody else find this clip from the end of his last show with Bruce quite emotional or am I the only sentimental one here?

Dunno, but are you same John

Dunno, but are you same John Connolly that used to have a letter printed every week in NME circa-1988? From 'John Connolly from New Barnet' to give you your full title.

Respect for the Phantom

I think you're absolutely right, John. The write-up on the Backstreets website was equally fulsome.

No you are not John!

Am gutted at this news and wish Danny the very best and a speedy recovery.

Let's hope it's just temporary...

...but meanwhile that is the first time I've actually seen anyone leave a band.

Not a dry seat in the house...

...Good luck Danny....
and by the way, is there anyone who puts more panache into drum beating than Max Weinberg. If he were a fast bowler, his run up would start outside the ground.
