Weird film or am I just not open minded enough ?

I have to admit

I'd never heard of it prior to your post. Having Googled it to see what it was you were referencing, and after reading its Wikipedia entry, I'm now intrigued. It sounds nuts, but is it endearing/entertaining nuts, or just plain bonkers nuts?*

*I readily admit I'm no Mark Kermode when it comes to film criticism. Sorry.

No, it's nuts.

Stylish, different, worth seeing if you're interested in cinema, great fun in places, but utterly bonkers.

It's also claimed to be a Jesus allegory. This is also nuts. It may be a Jesus allegory, but when such claims are made for films that are flat out insane to begin with, you know you're heading deep into the land of loopy.

Bear in mind it was made in Mexico in 1970, so there was probably a good supply of additional creative stimulation available to the director.
