Edwyn Collins
Posted by REdge on 8 November 2009 - 12:56pm.
Saw Edwyn Collins at the Bloomsbury Ballroom last night and a very fine evening it was. It was great to see him back on stage. As well as the old hits he also played a couple of newbies, including one co-written with Brian from The Cribs.
His band were fantastic and it was wonderful to see him singing, bantering with the crowd and making light of the difficulties related to his recovery.
Any others at the gig?

Just fantastic
to have him back performing again. Good to hear the gig was a good one. I wasn't there - just wanted to say that really - and wish him the very best in his continuing return. He's a top man - and Orange Juice were great.
I'm glad he's recovering
we went to one of his early post stroke gigs and enjoyed it, I was worried my reaction was "tainted" by just glad to seeing him a live. Other good news is the OJ back catalogue is meant to be getting a proper re-release next year.
Edwyn seems like
one of the unluckiest but loveliest people in pop, and he's certainly one of the funniest, and I'm so pleased he's getting his props.
I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere on-site (I couldn't find it), but the following article, written by his wife and manager Grace Maxwell, gives a very different view to the problem of file sharing:
