Dylan, The Boss, The King Of Pop...

Jude Rogers's picture

This is amazing – behind the scenes at the recording of We Are The World. Look at thy works, Cheryl Cole, James Morrison and Mika, and despair, etc.

All that talent

and they still fucked it up.

I've always wanted to know...

...who is the dude with the black mullet who sings after Kenny Loggins and before Daryl Hall?

I think you're

referring to Steve Perry from Journey.

An excuse to post this

"Look at thy works, Cheryl Cole, James Morrison and Mika..." etc

Slightly harsh comparison! Band Aid, the UK's 'We Are The World', included the likes of Bananarama, Marilyn, the Boomtown Rats, who weren't exactly Stevie Wonder/Springsteen/Dylan league either.

We're just more modest here...

Of course, the good news is...

...It's just been re-recorded with new "stars". This happened yesterday, according to the radio, for release next week (Haiti benefit). The recording sessions have been shot in *3D*, and a number of placeholder people wearing green bodysuits were interspersed, so that vocalists who couldn't physically be there can be dropped in.

Lady Gaga declined as she "didn't get it". Fair play to her, I say.

See you in 25 years to discuss the new version.
