I've lost my diary. I know this week is Bob, last week was Joni and the week before we did the Fabs. Is it Neil next week or are we doing In The Court of the Crimson King? Just so I can mug up on some shallow opinions to join in with. Thanks.
EDIT: Point of order 2. I'm the one with the shallow opinions round here. No reference to any opinions by anyone else, anywhere, ok? Sorry if anybody got the hump thinking I meant otherwise.
Crimson week will be in October, when the Anniversary Edition of "In The Court Of The Crimson King" will be released. Remixed in Cinemascope by Steven Wilson out of Porcupine Tree. ;-)
Here's a shallow opinion then... The avalanche of Dylan on this site shows what his secret is - it's not that he's a genius, visionary, spokesman for a generation and so on, it's that he is never, and has never been, boring. So he's either brilliant, awful or just plain bonkers. Compare that with the money-grubbing monotony of the Rolling Stones for the past, ooh, 30 years, and you can see what a skill that is.
Personally, I wouldn't take the chance of paying to see him live on the off chance that it might be one of the one in ten shows when he gives a toss, but the entertainingly extreme opinions he provokes make me glad he's still croaking his way around the world.
If you thought I was suggesting the Massive's opinions were shallow. I refer only to my own, as you can quickly discover by looking at any of them. Sorry!
I didn't think that at all, but the malign influence of a certain someone got you looking for offence where there was none. See? Just mentioning his name gets people all antsy...
Mr Cooper, can you keep your shallow opinions to yourself whilst people far more qualified, like me for example who has a PHD in shallow waffling claptrap, can pass on some real Bob Dilan insight.
I haven't seen the Stones for over 30 years but I don't recall reading any reviews that said their more recent shows were boring, had poor sound or that there was no interaction with the audience. The only criticism seems to be that they are still doing it at all. Which, as Mr Hepworth points out in the podcast, is because, like Dylan, what else would they do?
Point of order

Apologies

Shallow is as shallow does

Just realised I hadn't posted anything about Bob during Bobweek. That's sorted now at least.

Jakob Dylans latest, Seeing Things.
