Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together....

chrisf's picture

What must be the best children's cartoon on the planet at the moment.... Phineas & Ferb.

Standard MO - Phineas and Ferb on summer vacation try and find things to do (like building a roller coaster, rocket ship etc etc) whilst their elder sister tries to shop them to mum. Meanwhile, the evil Dr Doofenshmitz hatches a plot to take over the town only to be thwarted by Phineas' pet platypus, Perry, who is also a spy. This of course results in the evidence of Phineas & Ferb's actions being destroyed......

And there are great songs.... 5.00 minutes in we have the blues and in line with the recent bass cast / article on bass players we have the bass player who's " fabulous" (at 9.30 mins)

Couldn't agree more

I hesitate to say it, but Disney is doing some good work these days. Phineas and Ferb is the prime example, but even Hannah Montana and The Suite Life make me laugh more than "adult" comedies.

In fact, are we not living in a golden age of kids' TV? Rastamouse, Horrible Histories, Roy, Sarah Jane Adventures (RIP), Tracy Beaker in all her manifestations, Sorry I've Got No Head...

I can't remember this many programmes on that were this good when I were a nipper.

A golden age?

Perhaps, but there are still some proper atrocities out there:

Fighting talk!

my little lad loves Baby Jake. I guess he's the target audience too.
We are currently loving Abney and Teal featuring the voice of Shingai from the Noisettes.

Chris, I know what we're gonna do today

Big up. The mini mates love it for the pointy heads and wacky adventures, the big'uns for the intelligent humour and really frankly cracking tunes. We love Phineas and Ferb.

The Disney shows........

Some of the writing on Good Luck Charlie (in particular), the Wizards of Waverley Place, Shake it Up and The Suite Life is whip-crack smart. Very much like the more "adult" Modern Family and The Middle.

The kids have it on early morning and I find myself laughing despite myself. Every cynical bone in my body screams out that I should really dislike the never ending revolving door of stage school sugary teen actors, straight teeth and perfect hair but they are just so well written, you can't help but ending up liking them.
