Dr. Feelgood - Gene Hunt's favourite band

DougieJ's picture

Prompted by the rather good Charles Shaar Murray feature (shared with Blur) in the latest issue, check out these vids. Let's just say you wouldn't want to spill their drinks...

Love this one as well. You may recognise the chaps doing the intro...

Check out the comments. Even their fans are hard! Apologies to Messrs Ellen and Hepworth, but can't resist mentioning these ;-)

How dare he say 'not that great musically', bloody journalists can't play a note and he get's high listening to Mike Oldfield. DR FEELGOOD FUCKIN ROCKED!

What were those two clueless c*nts on about?
How the f*ck did they get to be regarded as some kind of rock oracle?
Take 'em down to the Canvey mud flats.....

Eek!

Excellent post

I'd forgotten just how weird they looked. Crazy dress sense; not really suited to TV, with all that twitchy movement and odd glances to camera. Dr Feelgood on the other hand were brilliant.

Wow Dougie

I have a brother who is 3 years older than me and he introduced me to so much in the 70's Ian Dury, The Jam etc..... I'd forgotten Dr Feelgood. Milk and Alcohol takes be back to another place and time. Thanks.

Damn Right

If any assistance is needed to get the buggers down to Canvey for a good kicking........the Ford Consul is wound up and ready.

Perhaps the second analysis of Hepworth & Ellen's contribution..

would make a good Word t-shirt.

Good call

Funnily enough I was going to do a Dr Feelgood tribute thread too so I'm glad I'm not the only fan here.
What with the recent Word article, the new movie and the sad death of Mick Green I've been on a bit of a Pub Rock kick recently.

I hope with all the interest in the band that Lee Brilleaux will be recognised for being a wonderful vocalist and frontman - not a bad harmonica player either!

Just ordered it - thanks!

What a bargain, all that for not much more than a pint!

Love the bit in...

"Down at the Doctors" where Lee yells out "Eight bars on the piano" and there's a space where the band just chug away. Of course, the Doctors don't have a piano player... class.

So anybody got any info

on this "Oil City Confidential" Feelgoods bio pic ? Sounds like our kind of movie. Has it been released ? I think it was mentioned in a podcast.
