Downtime

Fraser Lewry's picture

Many apologies for the unexpected downtime this morning - one of the database tables crashed and had to be repaired.

There I was, igniting my morning gasper...

and supping my first of many coffees when I clicked (as I am wont to do) on The Word link on my computer. A chill went down my spine as it dawned on me that the internet was broken.

Thanks for mending it so quickly Fraser.

arf...

it wasn't so much that i worried that the internet was broken; i was more worried that i'd have to do some bloody work...

Database tables? Just as I thought

You could just as easily have said the dilithium crystals were depleted and we'd all nod sagely.

The database table crashed.. One of the legs fell off.

But Fraser put a stack of old back-issues under it and it's fine now. Not even a hint of a wobble.

Come on admit it...

Mr Hepworth forgot to put 50p in the meter.

Why not take the time to...

write out your Christmas cards? :-)

Oh, very droll

Happy Christmas and have an up arrow on me.

Downtime?

Wasn't that a hit for Petula Clark?

database tables crashing

We've all done it. In a hurry. A few ales under the belt. Thick rain.

Smash bang crash.

And suddely those vintage tudor database tables you've inherited from your granny have got a massive scratch down the side of them.

Honestly, Fraser, you really should look where you're going...

Database tables are a bit rubbish

Homebase tables are much more robust I find.

I'm just putting on my coat, balaclava, woolly hat and gloves...I may be some time.
