and convince me that this is not the greatest pop music of the last fifty years.
And look here, the Doo Wop Box is down to £36.

Excuse me, I have stuff to buy. And "The Five Satins" doing "To The Aisle" isn't even on it.

This seems to have doubled up.
Not sure why.
Yes
It's a fabulous genre isn't it? EMusic is a good place to go to get some, I grabbed a load a few years ago when it was unlimited downloads.
Beware the collector's mania
I've dabbled a bit in doo-wop, and I bought this and the second one as well, eventually. plus several compilations in the Bison Bop series ....
This is probably my favourite collection :

These are two really fine compilations...
Money Honey: The Rise of the Black Vocal Group 1951-1953
The Roots of Doo Wop
Don't Stop The Doo Wop
was a kind of Now That's What I Call Doo Wop compilation a while back, but it's a great compilation, if a little obvious. But hey personally I don't think it gets better than Duke Of Earl, a great song regardless of genre.
It's next year's big thing, apparently
Forgive me,
but would Bobby Vee's , 'night has a thousand eyes', be classed as doo wop? Would love to hear more similar stuff to that.
You say tomato....
Personally I don't think so but genres do blend sometimes. eg Jam - New Wave or Punk?
