Does this ever happen these days?

Back in the not so glorious 80's, every US TV drama seemed to have weird guest stars...... Miami Vice always seemed to have the most bizarre.
I give you....Leonard Cohen!
Does this kind of malarkey still go on?

Meeting your Cohen and raising you a Zappa...
Another strange Miami Vice guest appearance - and I have to admit it, Frank cuts a fine drug-dealer image...
Sadly not on youtube
Is the episode with Miles Davis guest starring as a pimp.
Cash trumps Zappa
Johnny Cash guest starring in Swan Song ("Schwanen-Gesang" in this German TV YouTube clip), a 1974 episode of Columbo, as murdering gospel singer Tommy Brown.
The plot has him killing his blackmail-plotting wife, Ida Lupino, by rigging a plane crash. Don't worry though, Columbo is on the case.
The best TV detective ever and one of the all-time great singers. What a double act.
Man in Black
also starred in his own TV movie in the mid 1980s called "Murder in Coweta County" which he played the detective. I caught it years ago at some unearthly hour and he was suitably gravel voiced and actually gave rather a fine performance.
Boy George
and the A Team?
Australian Suburbia
to a disco beat:
I'm always surpised
to see a programme that Jonathan Ross is not on
Lily Allen
..about to be in Neighbours
Michael Palin in Home & Away
Nugent's are high in this game buddy!
