an annoying french exchange student called Luke we hosted who as well as buying Adam Ant lps, tried to cop off my mates' girlfriends, sulked, smoked in the house and tried to blame me, wanted hot milk on his cornflakes, tired to jump of the Humber bridge and still owes me £2.50. :)
... French - they love Patti Smith. I always thought "Creme Brulee" would have been better than "Patti Smith" and would have been more in keeping with the "obviousness" of the song. Good all the same.
- just got Dirk plus extras from Amazon for less than a fiver and it is better than I remembered. In fact it's bloody ace. Sexy, funny, intriguing, daft, well played, artful, vulgar - incredibly catchy in places too. I got it when it came out but it didn't really grab me then. Now though - it's wonderful.
From the John Robb blog linked to elsewhere it seems he is taking the stage again - appeared with the Glitter band and Gary Numan (a childishly wigged out rendition of Cars) - can't wait to see or hear more.
Always reminds me off

"I want those who get to know me....
....to become admirers or my enemies.".
All the cool kids liked "Dirk". My favourite AA album was "Friend or Foe". Much underrated (i.e. noone else liked it).
Adam Ant
could write a lyric....
'Young Parisians are so French, talk nothing but French'
'I think that everyone should see a show by Liza Minelli, such a marvellous lady, with talent by the ton'. I think they'd got to 'know' each other...
Bob Dylan? Get yer finger out boy.
Cereal
My personal favourite from FoF:
"you think that I'm made of readies
that makes me choke on my Shreddies"
John Shuttleworth would struggle to top that!
Wasn't it...
"Young Parisians are so French. They love Patti Smith"?
That's even better in my view.
Zerox
Always loved that song.
Absolutely
And surely one of the best, most exciting intros to a song?

Of the many songs
written so far about people who dream they are a child-sized Spastics Society charity box, "Car Trouble (Part 1)" is definitely in the top forty.
The unreleased title track is a killer
