Dave Clark on Later Live
Posted by Uncle Wheaty on 21 October 2008 - 10:16pm.
Just seen Dave Clark promoting his latest best of on Later Live.
Dave Clark has clearly had a big dose of botox in his forehead...he looks like a Romulan from a 1960s Star Trek episode.
Why not let nature take its course!
Has anyone in music ever looked better after botox?

Yeah...
... looked bloody scary.
Btw, Jakob Dylan is the spitting image of the Da.
Good song as well I thought
Good song as well I thought
Yep...
... album is pretty good too.
Yes!!
Self and wife spent the whole of the Dave Clark interview puzzling over what exactly he'd had done....
Then I listened to the Jakob Dylan song while wife went very quiet. At the end I said 'Quite good that'.
She said in sort of dreamy voice 'Was he singing? I didn't notice.'
Dave Clark
We both actually commented that his botox was a crap job - wondered if he kept the receipt?
Jakob Dylan was very good. Bloc Party were very bad (and I normally like them)
Dylan
Thought his voice sounded Springsteenesque, in a good way. Great to see Alan Toussaint on, I know him as the guy who arranged the horns on Rock of ages by the Band, didn't realise he wrote Working in a Coalmine
What on earth is Jakob Dylan
What on earth is Jakob Dylan thinking? New rave - could do; thrash metal - why not; electroclash - good idea; singer songwriter with acoustic guitar - no, no and furthermore no! Its not just that he is never going to be as good as his dad - no one is going to be as good as his dad.
Is there some sort of self destructive urge that drives Ziggy Marley, Julian Lennon and now Dylan Jr to be watered down versions of their fathers or are they simply cynically exploiting the family name? Either way, it ain't pretty (although my wife didn't seem to agree about that last night for some reason).
Sean Lennon's the same
He's practically begging you to compare his style and lyrics to his old dad. If I was the scion of a music legend and had to scratch my musical itch, I'd try to make damned sure that I sounded as little like my parent as possible, rather than modelling myself on him.
Was last night a full Later
rather than a Later Live. It went on for an hour in my house anyway.
According to my TV guide
there was Later Live at 10pm, and then the full Later later....(They do it to confuse us, I'm sure.)
Well that explains it ?
I must have missed the Later Live. Have to say that's a little ridiculous, and then its on again on Saturday.
I actually felt sorry for Dave Clark because he was genuinely a handsome guy in the sixties at least behind the drum kit on the video piece that was shown but whoever took the blade to him in the last few years has a few questions to answer. Not good. Maybe there was a legitimate reason, who knows!
Avalanche!
He looked bloody silly, as though his face had suffered an avalanche, could bearly see his eyes. And...why do they allow JH to interview the acts? Why not just run some subtitles with musical cliches across the bottom?
'It was better in the 60's'
'Floyd were amazing'
'McCartney'
'What song are you playing for us later?'
'I'll be jamming with you later'
'No you fucking won't'
And he was using the same colour
as McCartney on his head and beard. A sort of reddish brown. It's obviously all the rage down in Club 1965.
