Danny Baker John Martyn tribute...

Patrick Crowther's picture

I'd really like to listen to it again, but unfortunately I don't understand all this torrent business and would like an easier method to hear it.

Anyone know of an idiot-proof way for someone like me?

Me too....

...I wished i'd recorded it off the iplayer at the time but didnt get around to doing so. If anyone did record it is there any chance they can post a link??

I've just watched this for the first time...

and it's wonderful. The look John gives Danny Thompson at the end of the song (at 5.52) is beautiful... full of love.

a slight hitch

I've uploaded it to a download site but don't know if it breaks the rules on here if i posted the link.would it be copyrighted material etc ? .I don't want to get Fraser into trouble but if you contact me i'll send you the link

It's in the FAQ

We'd rather you didn't link directly to files that are hosted in possible breach of copyright.

Sorry to be a spoilsport.

Danny Baker Podcasts

I was wondering generally if there are any Danny Baker Podcasts out there? I just checked iTunes and nothing appears and a quick Google linked to BBC London and then 5Live but no Podcasts are featured with him that I can find.

I read a lot about him here on the Blog and wondered if he is working on radio at the moment.

audiobooks

Have a look in the itunes audiobooks for "the all day breakfast show" They were the DB podcasts from a couple of years ago. They were very enjoyable if you like all things treehouse. ended in acrimony with the "Wippit" provider.

There's a torrent of the entire series of ADBS

kicking around on the Interwebs.

Five live

He was doing 606 on five live - that was available on podcast but his shows are bundled with all their other phone in shows with DJ Spoony, Tim Lovejoy etc

Thanks

I'll check those out, it's a shame the Radio London ones aren't in Podcast form.

Not sure I want to wade through Tim Lovejoy though!

you can

choose to download just the db 606 podcasts don't know why BBc aren't honest and just put his out on their own. Does anyone really listen to recorded phone-in shows other than DB's which aren't really about football but the general oddness of life etc.

Chris

sorry mate, but I'm looking to download just the db 606 podcasts but can't find it anywhere - I'm googling away and checking the BBC site too but no luck - do you have a link please?

Retro Man | 22 July 2009 - 10:08am

to be clear

you have to sign up for 606 and then I think in itunes you can go down the list of shows and select the danny bakers ones. Sorry I was un-clear you can't sign up for Db seperately but you don't have to download spoony etc if you choose notto . His shows are stand alone so if you get the others you can as a last resort just delete them from your itunes etc.
I signed up for them from itunes shops in the sports podcast section as 606.

Can I just say

That this is probably the politest thread of any that's ever appeared on the web. I'm quite proud to belong to such a civilised bunch. Well done all.
