Current Climate Songs
As the dark nights slowly kick in and the credit crunch continues, Wall Street looks wobbly and the threat of powercuts seems a real possibility. Before we all reach for candles, cook corn beef hash and sleep in five layers of clothing, now seems an appropiate time to dig deep into music collections and look for related songs, to help us through.
A few of my own suggestions as follows and I'll lend you a quarter if you tell me some of yours. At least the forthcoming issue of Word will be a ray of light on the door mat and just two more days until the weekend.
1) Lights Out For Darker Skies-British Sea Power
2) Money-Pink Floyd
3) Don't Give Up-Peter Gabriel
4) Nothing Ever Happens-Del Amitri
5) (This Is For) The Better Days-The Bees
6) You Never Gave Me Your Money-The Beatles
7) Town With No Cheer-Tom Waits
8) Hard Times In New York Town-Bob Dylan
9) The Lady Is A Tramp-Frank Sinatra
10)How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live by Blind Alfred Reed,
- More from David Wright.
