Commercial Break: Svengali
Posted by Fraser Lewry on 23 February 2009 - 5:38pm.
Word reader Dean Cavanagh has alerted me to a new internet series he's written called Svengali. It's about a naive fella from the Welsh Valleys trying to tout his band around London - apparently Alan McGee makes an appearance in episode two. It's a non-profit thing at the moment (i.e. no-one has given the production company any money) but they hope to get funding from the suits one day. Any suits reading?

I absolutely loved his short story in Disco Biscuits. Tears, there were tears of laughter.
Crikey, I'd actually watch that
Nice Auf Wiedersehen Pet feel to it, a couple of nice lines, nice in-joke (the post-Groucho sniff), nice acting, nicely sets up the series proper.... small wonder nobody'll finance it: it's a good idea, well executed.
Can't see the video at work...
but it sounds a bit like a Welsh Flight of the Conchords.
Not that that would necessarily be a bad thing, mind.
That's great!
I could watch a lot more of that!

And here's part two...
