Top Cat always a favourite chez Stimpy :-(
Shouldn't that be
'Whose close friends et to called him deceased, providing it's with sympathy'?
Learnt a new word
milquetoast. Where on earth does that come from?
Milquetoast
It's from Caspar Milquetoast, a timid cartoon character of the 20s http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caspar_Milquetoast
I wish my ears were bigger (and pointed)...
so that they could stick out of a hat. Good look.
Never thought of that, Patrick...
but presumably the brim must have had slots in it to accommodate TC's ears. BUT, the slots cant have gone all the way around otherwise the brim would fall off.
So, every morning, when he emerged from the bin, TC must have had to carefully thread his ears through the slots.
This seems a fitting time to ask
Was Benny the voice of Doberman out or The Phil Silvers Shows?
Yes.
Maurice Gosfield was the actor responsible for both. He died in 1964
Were any of the others famous?
They were certainly distinctive.
See
they look alike

well Fancy Fancy
was clearly a Cary Grant impersonation and done by the guy who did the annoucements at the beginning of 'Dragnet'
most of the rest are stalwarts of the Hanna Barbera voice stable
Spook
The olive-coloured beatnik was my favourite. A true hep cat.
They don't make 'em like that anymore, etc etc.
