Classic Stamps
Posted by David Wright on 7 January 2010 - 1:59pm.
For my Birthday, I’m hoping to receive some of the limited edition classic album cover stamps from the Royal Mail.
I was quite surprised to see Pink Floyd’s The Division Bell had been included. It’s a good cover but is it a classic cover? I probably would have chosen Wish You Were Here or Dark Side Of The Moon.
What do you reckon to the album covers that have been chosen and who would you have included? Make Postman Pat proud.

Selling England By The Pound
which is also roughly the cost of a first class stamp these days.
Redundancy
Do you know what they called Postman Pat when he was made redundant?
Pat!
I'll get my coat........
Ps Glad to hear Ziggy Stardust is in there.
I think their choice
is half decent...but Coldplay?!?
I would have liked to have seen Never Mind The Bollocks myself.
They couldn't do Dark Side
because too much black on the stamp messes up the sorting machines.
Dark Side Of The Stamp
Thought it may be a technical reason, thanks for the info.
Presumably, then...
...mail so-stamped would go straight to the Great Sorting Office in the Sky.
no danger
of anything Goth related then
Don't worry James
First Class And Last And Always...
and AirMail Deutschland are in the next issue.

I see David Bowie and Paul Simonon
Join the small group of people who are not dead, and not The Queen, to appear on a postage stamp.
Or is that convention completely obsolete now?
Seemed to have been made obsolete
when they issued the HJH's stamps a couple of years back.
Ashley's missus,
She's on every bloody thing else might as well be on a stamp as well.
