Chubby Checker (Week 29)
Posted by drakeygirl on 25 July 2011 - 8:26am.
This will be a short entry from Captain Drake of HMS Chubby, as I've moved house and I'm still fighting my way around all the boxes I've yet to unpack in my new home. No Internet yet, either, so it'll have to be a quick post from my phone.
My Chubby Checker credentials are looking a little shabby, as we've been living off cake, beer, and takeaways throughout the moving process.
My Word Massive credentials are however looking good, after choosing to unpack and set up the hi-fi before putting the beds together. It's important, after all, to proritise.
So, how have all the rest of you Chubby Checkers been doing? Check in and tell us...

My inaugural Chubby posting
I've been slowly losing weight for a few years, but the last few months have seen a steady gain. I'm at the start of my 6 week summer holiday, so this seems like a good time to start again. I'll have plenty of time to do lots of walking, but also plenty of time to sit and snack. Anyway...
Weight this morning
16st, 11 3/4
I aim to be below 16 stone by the first day of term - Monday 5th September.
Good luck!
May the Chubbies' Force be with you.
just a quickie
After the heaviest beeriest week for some time, I've decided not to weigh in this week. (next week doesn't look good either!)
I've gained a couple of pound each week for the last two and I know what's coming!
Big festival (womad) coming up this weekend followed by a spot of holiday the week after.
Will get back on track for end of August (you can hold me to it!)
I've recently decided I really need to lose weight, so..
I'm now on board the good ship Chubby.
And, so far, it's good news:
Two weeks ago: 15st, 6lb
Last week: 15st, 4lb
Today: 14st, 13lb
Still too heavy, but definitely heading in the right direction!
Off to the gym now..
Another newbie
And straight in there with a 7lb rosette. Excellent work, Raymo!
Thanks Drakeygirl
I'm a bit worried about Monday's weigh-in, though. I think I might have weighed myself at *exactly* the right moment & benefited a bit from everyday weight fluctuations - I probably won't be so "lucky" next time!
Sorry I'm late
And I failed to lose anything at all. No gain, though.
The first two weeks of August I'm on holiday & I usually lose weight!! That's because I exercise more (walking & swimming) and eat more salad and fish (fish isn't popular at home because of the smell and the eyes - so I either eat alone when the house is empty or muck in with everyoone else).
I suppose that means my next check-in will be in 4 weeks.
When's the housewarming, Drakey?
All round mine Saturday, OK?
Entry strictly on production of Chubby Checker rosette.
Or cake.
Helloo!
Weight loss this week: -2lb
Total weight loss: -24lb
I've had people actually flirting with me recently. I'm not used to it, but I find myself rather enjoying it. And I've bought a couple more nice bits and pieces of clothes.
You know what? I've lost a bit more weight but gained a lot of confidence. (hopefully not too much, no-one likes a big-head)
My sister's wedding's this weekend so next time I'll post a picture of myself all frocked up for the occasion.
My big challenge will be getting to the gym during the summer holidays, and not reverting to old snacky ways. I'm actually not fussed about losing more weight (hey, if I do, it'll be fine, but if I don't lose another pound I'll still be happy), but I am fussed about sticking with the new healthy lifestyle.
oh dear...
...gained 1lb - but hardly surprising, not exactly been putting the effort in on the exercise front - too many boozy nights (and even a hog roast).
Anyway, onwards, onwards, things can only get slimmer.
I'm late, I'm late...
...but I'm here now. Apologies!
OK, so I lost a shed load of weight and waist before I went on my hols. I had met my original target and was within 3 pounds of my revised target. That much was excellent; then there was the two weeks in Italy...which resulted in me putting back on 14 pounds on the day after I got back. Gloomsville!
Here's the strange thing; one week later, i had lost 10 of those 14 lbs without undue effort. All I did was revert to my pre-hols routines and the weight has fallen off. From this I conclude that I have managed to adopt a more healthy lifestyle, which is what I really wanted to happen. I am now looking to lose the remaining few pounds to hit my revised target weight and then find a way of sustaining that level without feeling that I am starving myself or eschewing the good things in life.
So, I will remain part of this fine community and will continue to check in. For those new to Chubby Checking, all I can say is stick with it, it works.
Top Tip You may find it interesting to look at previous Chubby Checker threads, there are lots of good tips and links in there.
