Child sing-a-longs
Posted by James Helford on 30 March 2010 - 9:53pm.
Returning from the new Rick Stein fish and chippery in Falmouth this evening, my youngest asked me to go to CD 1 - Track 8 on the autochanger thingy. It was The Decemberists and Shankhill Butchers from one of the early Word CDs - she sang along beautifully.
She is 10.
Oh dear.

Sylvia Plath death songs
Our nine-year-old loves me singing Paul Westerberg's 'Black Crackle and Drag' on the guitar as she is drifting off.
It's about the suicide of The Bell Jar hitmaker.
Sally Maclennane
Sally Maclennane from the Pogues has been popular with my daughters since they were about 3 and 5 respectively. Their mother has also got them hooked on Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell.
my niece was really into
Oh My God by Ida Maria
And Bob Dylan's Must Be Santa
When she stayed with me at christmas. She is 5 and likes to dance. Endlessly.
Both my daughters...
2 and 3 respectively, are mental for the Battles album, "Mirrored". They just love it. "Atlas" is universally known as the "wicka-wah song" in our house.
Back in London
my then 6 year old daughter sang the Handsome Family's So Much Wine at an impromtu school Christmas singalong. Anyone familiar with this festive ditty will understand why eyebrows were raised by the teachers.
Any excuse for this belter...
stick around for the chorus...
