Entertainment For Lively Minds
C'est Magnifique Musique
1st time I dared to put finger to keyboard on this here page last year, I asked the great and the good what musical discoveries of the year they had chanced upon thus far - twas Rocktober at the time...
As I'm bereft of any fresh ideas for a blog entry, my old and new discoveries of this year so far are: -
*Janelle Monae - Tightrope - a tip top, top of the pops, funkin' gem of a tune
*Jim Croce - Operator - guaranteed finger pickin''scoustic heartbreaker
*Tyrone Davis - Can I Change My Mind? - the voice, the delivery, the lyrics, the arrangement...all add up to a grade A 45
*The Coral - Another Way - tucked away on their superb new long-player, this acoustic gem benefits from nicely stacked beach boys harmonies
*Bryan Ferry - Fingerpoppin' - Ferry at his primetime 70's Ike Turner covering best. Kiss and Tell is also worth a gander....sod it...how good is Editions of You???? The Roxy revival start here!
anymore for anymore?

Sure
The Boy Who Trapped The Sun - Home
Lou Barlow - The Right
I Am Kloot - I Still Do
Always happy to share.
How about
And the Besnard Lakes, not the best track off the album but nice footage
Love that Caribou track
Here's another fave Caribou track:
Thomas Truax
Saw this Lynchian instrument-building mad-scientist songwriter live in Leeds and Hull earlier this year. A staggering night out and some strange but infectious songs.
Love this song
Favorite band of the last couple of years
Can't wait to hear the new album.
Why did that happen ?
Meant to post "Deerhunter " and their latest song "Revival " which is amazing.
