Caprica

Anybody watch this last night? Sky+'ed it then watched it this afternoon.Didn't take long to get drawn in,and now eagerly anticipating next week's episode.Apart from Sky's ever more irritating and intrusive ways to promote up-coming programmes that is.How long have they been returning to a show after an ad break, but in a little box over a full-screen plug for another prog.? Maddening.

I'll end up getting a box set, no doubt...

But how does it compare to BSG so far?

Sky Hype - I can't stands no more

Further to the comments above, Sky channels do my nut in and I can not watch them. Even if there was some thing I wanted to watch (which would be rare). The very rare times I have watched Sky 1 the number of breaks is astounding, further the length must break some regulation. On top of that the bulk of the break is full of Sky hype for other channels. To me they are running a coach and horses through the OFCOM or IBA Rules, is that correct?

Thumbs aloft thus far

It's pretty good so far (I've seen the pilot and episode 2).

It's Mad Men stylish with a bit of pretty teen angst thrown in. And robots.

More drama than sci-fi though. I'd say that anyone who hasn't seen BSG could enjoy it, but those of us who have seen it and know how badly this all ends up should get an extra layer of satisfaction.

So the downfall of the 12 colonies

is down to a particularly stroppy teenager who got bored of all the virtual dancing, sex and drugs and found God?

After a bit of initial trepidation, found it quite involving. As a BSG fan, I'm trying to think a couple of steps ahead and wondering how the writers are going to shape the storyline(s) to the known Galactica universe.

Thought Stolz was good.

Stick with it

We're on Season 2 now. Heartily recommended, for reasons that I can't go into with Spoilering.

Really?

I quite liked it but the FPO wasn't too keen so we gave up after a couple of episodes.

Did you see that BSG from the point of view of the Cylons? We gave up with that too!

And now it is no more

The frakkin frakkers have cancelled it! No Season 2. Pulled off the air right away with the final 5 (!) episodes to be shown in the US next year.

Bah!

So... is it worth watching then?

I'm on episode 4 and I'm partly intrigued and partly wondering if I should commit more time when there's so much else to watch (e.g. Colditz, which has suddenly juumped onto the to-watch list).

What I'm worried about is if it's going to do a Flash Forward now it's cancelled - raise some questions and never answer them. What with both FF and Heroes doing that this year, it all seems like a big waste of time...

Hard to say

I enjoyed it for the acting, gorgeous sets and the tech part not being too outlandish. I liked the whole transhuman idea in Battlestar Galactica and Caprica was adding to that strand quite nicely.

There's speculation that the delay in broadcasting the final episodes will allow them to bring it to a neater resolution. Seeing as we already know what happens a few decades later, this doesn't bother me much though.

I've seen up to episode 13 and not been disappointed so if you have time, I'd go for it.

Yes. Stick with it. Not

Yes.

Stick with it. Not disappointing at all.
