My real name is indeed one of the above

So hooray. I can't remember the exact quote, but it's something on the lines of "the sweetest sound in the english language is that of someone's own name".

And what exactly

is wrong with the name 'Nigel'? I feel really left out now...

nigelthebald | 8 October 2008 - 8:29pm

Mines in there

Am tempted just so the family can sing along.

Lee Rimmer | 8 October 2008 - 8:41pm

That's everyone in the Word office covered

Apart from me.

*shakes fist at sky*

Fraser Lewry | 8 October 2008 - 9:38pm

Fraser,

I feel your pain.

nigelthebald | 8 October 2008 - 9:41pm

I'm married to a Gavin

and there aren't many Gavin songs. At least people can make plans for you, Mr. Bald...

Hannah | 9 October 2008 - 10:04am

Plans.

And didn't that make the late 70s/early 80s a joyous time for me! Thank you, XTC, thank you so much. PS Had the baby yet, Bickie?

nigelthebald | 9 October 2008 - 11:27am

Not yet...

...but baby bickie is due any day now!

I know another Nigel who used to work for British Steel, so the song was even more apt for him...

Hannah | 9 October 2008 - 2:51pm

Well you have a list of names

to pick from and baby bickie can have their own song.

Lee Rimmer | 9 October 2008 - 3:49pm

That's a great idea

When making a CD for my other half once I played a masterstroke by finding a great song with her name in, Annabelle's Song by Everclear. I had to change the title slightly for my homemade sleeve as her name is Anna and not Annabelle but it's the shortened version of the name that they sing in the chorus so she didn't notice.
Anyone else pull off the same trick? Surely there's isn't a man in the world married to a woman called Sarah who hasn't made her a mixtape with a certain Thin Lizzy song on it.
