that for the next cover The Word has spurned someone currently sporting luxuriant facial hair - trailed on the top banner - in favour of someone who's never had much more than a goatee?
From a purely commercial point of view, I totally understand - and I guess you are a music magazine first and foremost.

exactly luxuriant - though that possibly applies to the quiff - but I take the point. Touché.
Beardy or non-beardy covers are equally acceptable to me, but there does seem to be a fetish for higher facial-fuzz quotient among the Word massive...
He's almost too pale and unshaven
on the cover...something doesn't add up!
You see, never satisfied...moan about too many beards and yet freak out when there isn't one!
