I know I'm your neighbourly bootlegger

But if you want a copy of my pretty good boot, you know how you can!

Thanks Chief

I've already got a copy, I'm very interested in getting my hands on this official version though.

Brussels Affair

About time too, although what a curiously low-key way to announce the release of one of the greatest live albums of all time.

available now

at Stonesarchive.com, and in FLAC too. I dived straight in and, of course, their ridiculous Download Manger programme won't work with my proxy server in work, hopefully it'll be a different story when I get home. Has anyone ever loved and respected their biggest fans as much as the Stones do?

Done

Got this on with my headphones now. Tumbling Dice sounds amazing.

Listening to 'All Down the Line' now

they really are the world's best rock n roll band at this point. Knock off Woody, bring back Taylor

Absolutely

Its easy to forget the style of live band they once were. I actually felt dread when they attempted Midnight Rambler on the licks tour. This is unbeatable.

I can't wait

to get my hands on this - I fondly remember the Empire Pool gig on this tour as one of the best shows I've ever seen, certainly by them. This seems to confirm my memory!!

This particular gig was recorded for release as a live album

which was abandoned before release, consequently, there are proper multitracks avilable for it.

Compare and contrast

Anyone got any opinions on how this release stacks up against the unofficial versions?

0
yorkio | 17 November 2011 - 6:40pm

Got It

flac burned onto cd, on the hi-fi now, it sounds fantastic, much improved sound over the boot. This is the sound of the greatest rock n'roll band there has ever been or will be. They really miss Taylor, but the really miss Wyman as well. The horns sound fantastic. Jesus, where's the drink?

Jesus

Midnight Rambler was on fire that night.

This is

as good as "ya-ya's", if not better.

0
Pat Carty | 18 November 2011 - 12:05am

I'd say better....

I'll download it next week; is the between song banter left in - particularly Mick speaking French like he learnt it from Del Boy Trotter?

ivan | 18 November 2011 - 3:22am

Oui

il est là

0
Pat Carty | 18 November 2011 - 9:27am

au revoir, Pat, au revoir

and mange tout to you to...

0
ivan | 18 November 2011 - 10:55am

Bloody downloads...

Why can't they release it as a CD or better still, a long player?

Patrick Crowther | 18 November 2011 - 9:31am

I've got the bootleg

version of this and what I love about it is it sounds properly live. No tweaking in the recording studio afterwards (a la Get Your Ya Yas Out). Does the official release still sound authentically live?

it sounds great

much better than the boot to these ears. Is there tinkering? no idea. I'm with Patrick as well, I hate buying downloads but this one was worth it. Knowing the Stones, the cd/vinyl will probably surface in a few months and yours truly, one of the world's great ejits, will go and buy it.
