Bright Side Of The Moon

Chortle reports that Pink Floyd have refused Harry Hill permission to call his new comedy album "Bright Side Of The Moon", and Apple have knocked back "Sgt Pepper Vol 2".
Leaves me wondering how bands could have such powers? I know they control who can or can't record their songs, but I didn't know it extended to similar sounds album titles. Seems a bit po faced.

Nice to see a Rainbow there though ;-)

Po faced indeed
I can see that Apple might have a copyright for anything that uses the phrase Sgt Pepper (especially as the title of an album!) but surely the only reason that Pink Floyd could have any say in using a phrase that they didn't create is if the intention was to couple it with some spoof artwork.
He should have asked
Medicine Head who also had an album out called Dark Side Of the Moon which IIRC was released before Pink Floyd's album. Did PF ask their permission?
I think this might just be an attempt by Harry Hill's PR people to drum up some publicity. I find it hard to believe that Pink Floyd would have just a right of veto and harder to understand why they would object.
Chortle?
Humour site, surely.
Certainly about the comedy *biz*
was fascinated to see the item there about a new Dirk Gently film, starring Steven "Green Wing" Mangan:

Dirk G is modelled on Michael Bywater, I wonder what he makes of it ?
Richard Cheese
Richard Cheese & Lounge Against The Machine managed to call their best of "Sunny Side Of The Moon".
Seems odd that.
I thought Waters, Gilmour et al were always up for a laugh. Especially Al.
