It's not often we get to hear much from Brian Kennedy these days but I thought some of the massive may be interested in a couple of recent video clips

Spooky
When Colin H was talking about punk bands from Belfast, I was trying to think of a way to mention Brian's little brother Bap. The timing was wrong though and Energy Orchard weren't really a punk band so I gave it a miss. I hadn't thought about Bap for quite some time and a couple of days after thinking about him and playing some of his CDs, you go and mention his brother!
Spooky!
I'm sure you posted about Steve Earle recently Joe? Earle produced one of Bap's albums in case you don't know him. It was either 'Domestic Blues' or 'Lonely Street'....both worth checking out!
BK
I saw BK on stage with Van Morrison once. I didn't like BK at all which was a shame as Van let him do quite a lot of the singing.
Worth another try, Neil.
Some good stuff on his solo albums.

Is a good place to start. He's great live. Really great voice. Has sung some of my top 100 all time songs.
This would be in the top 20.

And the real good news
is that Bap has a new album out early in 2012
Energy Orchard
I adored that band exquisitely. A spectacular live proposition. Paul Toner was a eye-wateringly lovely guitarist, and Bap a delightful frontman. The fact that only a handful of other people seemed to share my enthusiasm made for that terrible combination: they were a deliciously special secret for a select few of us who were therefore clearly superior to everyone else in terms of musical taste and general moral fibre, but it must have been very hard for the poor band to actually make a living out of us...hence their ultimate demise.
Looking forward to Bap's new album, though, and always wondering what the mighty Paul is doing now...
More relevantly to the OP, Brian's got a smashing voice. "Town" and "Captured" off his first album are treasures.
Just yesterday
I ordered the Sweetmouth album 'Goodbye to Songtown' from Amazon - $1.99.
For those who don't know, Sweetmouth was originally meant to be the second album by Fairground Attraction, but when the band broke up during the making of the album, Mark E. Nevin brought in Brian Kennedy as a replacement vocalist (apparently there are recordings of Eddi Reader singing the same songs).
Anyway, it's a great album, but one I only ever had on cassette, so I am looking forward to receiving the CD version. Here's a sample:

This album is also available on Spotify at http://open.spotify.com/album/5Qe1F9qytr6Iwy4JjfVOG9
And here
With the gorgeous Juliet Turner ( check her albums out as well ) singing the best Irish song of the last 30 years, Paul Brady's The Island.
Message In The Box
I have to say that this is a fine song: -
(Yes, I know that World Party also recorded it)
Thank You
Great to see so many other members of the massive that appreciate Bap & Brian Kennedy. I feel that they both deserve much more recognition than they currently get. I know Brian does a lot of touring around Ireland and appears on a lot of TV other there but we do not get to hear a lot about him. As for Bap I think he is based in London now but not certain about that.
