BOB'S ALL HEART AT CHRISTMAS
Having just received my copy of Bob Dylans 47th album - at least 60 plus days before Christmas. I can only describe my initial reaction as one of, if I was incontinent this would make me truly pissed off!
For those not in the know Bob has released an album to feed the homeless in the USA just in time for Christmas. Over 15 tracks all the traditional seasonal favourites are there. Thankfully 'White Christmas' is not included, but Bing and Bowie do not escape due to the inclusion of 'The Little Drummer Boy'.
I can safely say that nowhere will any of these songs reach the ears of UK listeners during the seasonal period on UK radio. Should any hip programme controller attempt to include any track I would imagine he will be unemployed by Christmas Day.
However, if you want a bloody good laugh over Christmas this album is the perfect gift for any Dylan fan.

BOB AGAIN
Just another thought - Is this the Top 15 worst Dylan recordings or is there another selection?
SECOND THOUGHTS
Having just returned from the States I didnt hear one radio or in store play of this album in either Nashville or New York.
Seems like Bob will have to feed the 'world' via his loyal and objective fans.
When I was in NYC there were various stalls set-up on the Avenues collecting cash for the homeless.......and not much was going in those jars!
However, as the Festive season gets closer I'm of the opinion that 'Christmas Blues' might be the most worthwhile track on the album.
It's Self Portrait all over again
I recall the growing sense of horror that I experienced when I bought the Zimm's Self Portrait back in the day and struggled through the ritualised slaughter of songs like The Boxer, and All the Wild Horses. It was his hayseed impression of a crooner on Blue Moon that tipped me over the edge and made me realise that I'd been had.
Just when we had got used to the idea of Bob producing reasonably good albums and backing up them up with appalling concert performances, he reminds us once again that he can make rubbish records too.
If you want to support a good cause, buy this new album and copy it for your own use and then give it to someone you don't like for Christmas. That's what I'm doing.
Bob Dylan is the Florence Foster Jenkins of our age.
