So what does The Massive think?
What should be on it?
Can anyone conceive what Dylan singing 'O Little Town Of Bethlehem' will actually sound like?
A world waits, with bated breath. Possibly.

Oy vey!
Oh
Mercy!
:-(
.
Flabbergasted
This has freaked me out. It could be utter genius or genuinely disturbing. I'm off to lie down for a while.
Joy To The World?
The prospect of a Dylan Christmas album? Get your ass (and ox) outta here!
dylan xmas songs
Maybe he's reissuing some old hits with slightly different, more Xmas-like, time signatures, bells and choirs etc where the lyrics could, at a stretch, have some have some relevance to the birth of Christ: e.g "The Times they are a Changin".
It's A Byre's Market!
Wondering what the tracklist might look like....
God Rest Ye Bobby Zimmerman?
Is it April 1st?
No, I've just checked... it isn't. I think it will be a triumph.
And it will..
be an exclusive pre-release to Spotify!

Ah! Oh well.
All possible puns for every possible theme must be on the internet somewhere. Bloody Uncut.
Bloody Uncut indeed
Now, back to intelligent life on Planet Rock.
Agreed.
No time for puns and trivia here at The Word!
'Oh Santa'...
little-known outtake from 'Desire'.
'One More Cup of Eggnog'... a littler-known outtake from 'Desire'.
Sad Eyed Lady of the Lapland
Visions of Hosannah
'New Reindeer'...
'Open the Door, Santa'
'I Pity the Poor Reindeer'
'I Dreamed I Saw St Nicholas'
Must Be Santa...
...is one of the alleged tracks he's already recorded at Jackson Browne's studio in Santa Monica. This should be worth hearing. I was introduced to the song - Brave Combo's version, anyway - by Dylan himself on his radio show a few years back; and the prospect of him with his weathered, breathy voice getting through this is interesting, to say the least:
Well, I'm not surprised
Saw him a couple of years ago in Brum. He was a proper cheery little elf that night. Telling jokes, reminiscing warmly about Joan Baez, singing tuneful and faithful versions of his classics. He led the crowd in a three part harmony rendition of Silent Night. It was beautiful. Maybe that's what gave him the idea. Afterwards he spent two hours signing autographs & gave all the kids a lolly. Heartwarming.

Deck The Halls With Yowls of Bobby, Fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la
He can't sing! He's boring live! He tours once a year! He wears daft hats and has a silly little beard. How can Bob Dylan possibly compete with Santa?
Ahem... clears throat noisily...
Tangled Up in Yule
Early one mornin' the snow was fallin', I was scratchin' my head
Wonderin' if there was a stocking at the foot of my bed.
My folks said their lives together sure were gonna be rough
They never did like Santa's homemade dress
Rudolph's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Presents stuffed in my shoes
Dreadin' my visit to the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues pleasin' you
Tangled up in Yule.
On a similar tip
They're selling tinsel which is hanging
They're taking the ‘Sale’ boards down
The beauty parlor is filled with mothers
The pantomime’s in town
Here comes the office Lothario
He’s looking for romance
One hand touches the sweet young junior
But she’d just rather dance
And the reindeer squad they're restless
They need somewhere to go
As angels and I look out tonight
From Santa’s Big Grotto
Happy Crimble
As my favourite Dylan albums since the 60's are the two folk albums of the early 1990's I haven't got too much of a problem with him doing an LP of traditional songs.
It can't be as bad as his 1980's stuff.
Macca's best recent album was 'Run Devil Run'; Van's was 'Skiffle Nights'.
