Blimey

Chimney Singing Cheryl Cole's picture

Just noticed the argy bargy that's being going on.

Why don't we lighten things up a bit and talk about what a triumph 'Dig Out Your Soul' was for Oasis?

0

that's fighting talk

"Blimey" was my reaction too...

Well I thought

I'd 'take one for the team' and let everyone vent their fury on my beloved Oasis rather than on each other

What argy bargy, where?

** breaks bottle over monitor and crouches like a coiled spring **

Jed Clampett | 19 November 2009 - 5:07pm

Where? Who?

I hadn't spotted this. Perhaps I'm trying too hard to see the good to notice when people are actually being nasty. Surely most of what goes on here is just light hearted banter.

JohnW | 19 November 2009 - 5:54pm

"Light hearted banter?"

Hold my coat, somebody.

David Hepworth | 19 November 2009 - 8:17pm

Argy bargy?

The best Squeeze album

I hate to miss a spat

someone show me where, please... Bastard!

0
James Blast | 19 November 2009 - 7:28pm

Blimey, indeed.

*mournful sigh*

Just when you thought equilibrium had been restored, the 'down arrow' debate was fading into folk memory, up pops another controversy. Or two.

I nearly shuffled off when all that arrow hoo-ha was a-hooing and a-ha-ing away, but I didn't because I like it here. Then, well, you get these very heated threads (nothing wrong with that, I suppose) that descend into name calling (quite a lot wrong with that I think)... and life's too brief to be bothering my blood pressure with all that sort of malarkey.

We're just an eyeblink - our entire species is a pimple on the backside of time, and this digital gubbins here is a pimple on the pimple of the backside of time. When the resources we rely on run out it will all be swept away. What I'm saying is these conversations are pointless - so they might as well be polite. I don't mean that insultingly, just philosophically.

I'm a bit saddened by the negative vibes, is all.

I seem to have missed the spat

Like several others above. Can someone point we congenial but nosey types to the pagga?

0
Gatz | 19 November 2009 - 9:40pm

It's the busy one

About whether Rob Fitzpatrick had read the FAQ

0
el hombre malo | 19 November 2009 - 9:45pm

Oh!

Oh! Now I understand - I read the original post, thought it was a bit strong but I haven't read the article so couldn't comment and I didn't read any of the comments. I'm not sure that I want to now either.

JohnW | 19 November 2009 - 9:51pm

Ahh, thanks

Now I see. I looked in briefly but retreated because of the hail of dummies being spat through the air.

0
Gatz | 20 November 2009 - 9:00am

Now would down arrows

helped or hindered the debate?

0
Leedsboy | 19 November 2009 - 10:14pm

Hmm

I think it would have turned a ferocious paintball session into one with live ammo.

0
el hombre malo | 20 November 2009 - 10:17am

True

It would have ended by now though.

1
Leedsboy | 20 November 2009 - 10:59am

Banter, Martin, harmless banter

now that John n Edward, they're good for music n't they?

*piano player stops as barman hides best whiskey*

DogFacedBoy | 20 November 2009 - 9:10am

Which of you boys'll

form a posse with me and go fitch us them varmints?

0
Davy H | 20 November 2009 - 10:14am

never mind that

someone needs to rush to an airport (any airport will do) and, leaving their car slewed across the entrance, dash to the gate where they will be rugby tackled by security just as they spot Archie in the distance, about to board the plane...

Did you guys really lose the great Valpariso in a spat about spelling? I've only been away a week, and... this.

0
Captain Underpants | 20 November 2009 - 10:28am

It's all very very silly

Hopefully everyone involved will see the funny side soon.

0
Chimney Singing... | 20 November 2009 - 10:48am

In a nutshell

Did you guys really lose the great Valpariso in a spat about spelling? I've only been away a week, and... this.
