I love this...
Sarky and funky as f*ck - just like the man himself.
There WAS someone else...
...Jackson Browne.
"These Days" - written when he was sixteen:
Other birthdays today: P.J. Harvey, Al Jourgensen, James Fearnley (Pogues), Sean Lennon...
...and someone out of Westlife.
I'll stick with The Ox
The Who, especially 'Meaty, Beaty Big and Bouncy' was one of those albums that turned my head.
I'll forever owe them.
Ox
'Whiskey Man', 'Someone's Coming', 'Silas Stingy', 'Doctor, Doctor', 'Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde', 'In The City', 'I've Been Away', 'Boris The Spider', 'Heinz Baked Beans'; hugely under-rated songwriter.
He always seemed to write the b-side and whilst the world doesn't really need another Who comp I've always thought that an As/Bs collection, from 'I'm The Face' through to 'Pinball Wizard', would suit them better than anyone.
Always worth seeing this again...
Happy birthday Ox.
Me
I was 57 yesterday, so proud to share it with Mr Browne.
