Bing Hitler done good

Beany's picture

Craig Ferguson gets to go to America, is given a late night talk show and is fortunate enough to introduce one of his favourite bands. The track they perform is from a 1973 recording, not their latest CD. Why? Because it's the song that Craig uses to introduce his live shows when on tour.

This clip was filmed last year when the band produced a special package of goodies for their fans, or Rhubarb Thrashers, to finance the trip. I think it was worth it judging by the comments received on their website.

Future Word In Your Ear contenders chaps?

Stackridge - The Last Plimsoll

This is the "lost" footage of the Craig Ferguson "Doctor Who" musical

Blimey, Beany

I hadn't seen James Warren since the EGTLSH's days in the Korgis - it is you, isn't it?

Great to hear that again, so I think it's about time to give up on ever digitizing my vinyl, and buy some Stackridge on CD/download.

Craig Ferguson

He's come a long way from the Bing Hitler days. Nice to bring on a band he obviously remembers with affection

Major Tom's a cheeky monkey.

Now often attributed to Peter Glaze but it was Mr Hitler ripping Peter Glaze.

Plimsolls - do modern kids know what they are?

My nipper doesn't, that's for sure - I get it in the ear if I don't refer to 'trainers' rather than 'dappers' or 'training shoes'.

What we DO agree on though, is that Stackridge are excellent, and Craig Ferguson has done a GOLDEN THING by having them on his show. The Doctor Who theme spoof is good fun too.

Can't wait to see The Mighty 'Ridge on their forthcoming "Dora's 40th Birthday Tour" ... Kendal, ahoy!

One of the very few bands I'd place alongside Bellowhead, The Decemberists and Stornoway as being unmissable live.
