Big ups - Greg Proops
Posted by Harold Holt on 11 September 2011 - 12:59pm.
Something I find in depressingly short supply is great standup comedy, which is why I was deliriously happy to trip over Greg Proops's "Smartest Man In The World" podcast on iTunes. I came in after about 20 episodes, meaning I had a block of 20 hours or so to wade through, which was fan-bloody-tastic. It's a bit sweary (actually a lot weary), and therefore not suitable for minors on the school run. But it's a great ramble through his old memories and current news topics. I'd suggest it's worth starting at the first one and working forward too (like I found with the Word podcast).

Ta
Will give that a go on my commute to work tomorrow.
For us iTunes refuseniks, the subscription feed is http://smartest.libsyn.com/rss
And as a refusenik
ta for that.
I concur
The podcast is great. Greg is great. Satchel Paige was great.
The Word massive may appreciate the Jah Wobble theme and the frequent references to music and musicians (though mostly from the 80s). One episode, Beavers (http://smartest.libsyn.com/beavers), includes his meeting Paul McCartney anecdote.
Good call
It's quality stuff... though I admit that I fast-forward through some of the political rants. He doesn't have the knack of being consistently funny whilst being political. Away from politics though, there are few better than Mr P.
