Best/most unusual piece of official merchandise you own...
Posted by Native on 13 March 2010 - 7:05pm.
I’ve got a few including a pack of Beautiful South beer mats, U2 iPod and Kraftwerk notepad and pen set, Pet Shop Boys condom, umbrella, electronic translator (for Bilingual album) and ‘So hard’ boxer shorts.
Anyone one else got anything of note?

an Elbow baby-grow
from when Newborn was out. No idea why I bought it...
Gosh. Erm..
I've got a Delays mug at work.
And I did buy my wife some Franz Ferdinand knickers. I don't think she ever wore them.
A Madness Bottle Opener....
and a Fairport Convention Tea Towel. I did stop myself buying the Fairport 'Scanty Panties' a few years ago though... obviously not the completist I thought I was.
Old Red Eyes is back...
A lovely coffee mug which, when you fill up with hot liquid, lights up with pair of hot, red eyes. Sadly in the last house move I lost my Furniture "love your shoes" socks. At one point I could clothe myself entirely head to foot in record company freebies, and then go out and play five-a-side against a man who wore a Family Cat T-shirt bearing the legend "All other bands are dogshite". Christ knows who came up with that, or what they're doing now....
Kingmaker rainwear
My mate Debbie had a Kingmaker caghoule, which must be the lowest wattage piece of official merchandise of all time.
I've said it here before, but, there was a great piece in Q circa 1990 about unlikely promo items which included the Linda McCartney Steak Knife. I still love that.
Erm...
Seldom Seen Kid mug.
Steps pasta shapes (tin of).
Budgies drum stick, nicked from the stage of the Music Machine.
Carnation handed to me by Elton John at Derby Assembly rooms.
Stereophonics Cd turned into clock - doesn't work proving that time stops when you listen to them, in a bad when-will-this-end? way.
Take That mini film projector.
12 packets of Walkers Spice Girls crisps, with crisps inside.
Justin Timberlake marrionette.
Hear'say dolls - all except Susan Shaw.
Elton John commemorative plate.
100 odd- band related badges.
Judas Priest Dildo*
*I made that last one up.

Clearly. As any fule kno, that was a bit of FGTH promo memorabilia. Or The Power of Love Hitmakers as they should more accurately be referred to.
not that random
But a John Lennon commemorative clock, and a Portishead mug (which is just black with a large P on the side). Or a JJ72 sweat band. But no, nothing "weird" as such.
A Flaming Lips 'Silver Trembling Fetus'

Anyone buy this?

Now sadly not on sale anymore.
