The posting below about the Food Show reminded me of a night I helped at an Asda I worked at. They held a Whiskey tasting for charity as a promo evening. The restraunt was closed off and the tables set with A4 sheets of paper with eight circles on and an empty tasting glass placed on each circle. The place was packed at £2 a ticket and then the guy starts his talk as the first dram was poured into the first glass. By the time he'd worked thru to the last sample I've never seen so many contented people. Then he took everyone staggering into the store to sell what they'd just tasted - leaving one guy slumped in a chair - surveying the tables with some samples not empty he just sighed " what a waste" and then set about drinking some more and then fell over.
