Harriet Wheeler

For me back in 1990 there was only one.

Just heard this today and she came flooding back. Still the bollocks Harriet.

Yeah right.

'Chicks'.
Bit 'Man About the House' and 'On the Buses' ain't it?

I suspect....

...they would have said "birds" - as would I, at the time.

Twangothan | 15 July 2008 - 6:59pm

As would I

Funnily enough.

Only in your mind eddie.

No abuse here.

Springer | 15 July 2008 - 7:03pm

I believe

the appropriate Word terminology is Hottie...as in Hero and Hotties (have I got that right)...it was a bit too Nuts for me....

Commoner | 15 July 2008 - 7:07pm

Oh Cripes

You've all come on a bit Ben Elton for me.

Springer | 15 July 2008 - 7:08pm

How about

Tidy Boiler

Commoner | 15 July 2008 - 7:27pm

Memo to Self

Must remember to write to the publishers of Chick Lit fiction and demand that the Word massive would rather that it be marketed as "Hottie Lit" or "A Bit OK lit" in the future!

Young Women. . .

on Speed.

Archie Valparaiso | 15 July 2008 - 8:05pm

I prefer...

... either 'skirt' or the Newport variant 'clart'.

Roisin Murphy

An easy on the eye artiste of popular song (hope that's acceptable):

Photobucket

Sven | 15 July 2008 - 7:23pm

Is that...

...strictly true in terms of 'popular' song???

AgentGraves | 15 July 2008 - 10:43pm

Moloko

The Time Is Now and other hits?

And another thing - 'popular song' is just a type of music as in pop music, which although called such is not always top ten or even twenty yet we use that name, as you know. So there!

Sven | 16 July 2008 - 9:44am

Quite agree though

The Sundays were a cultural blindspot for me until i was recently educated....

Commoner | 15 July 2008 - 7:28pm

i first heard that version of Wild Horses

in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm not sure what most of the parishioners make of BtVS but it always rang the right bells for me, mixing comedy and horror in just the right proportions. The bit where Buffy and Angel realise that there's no going forward for them and dance at the prom to that song is still proof that "teen-telly" can sometimes be quite quite moving!

oh - and as for rock chicks i'd not kick out of the scratcher for eating crisps...lemme get back to you. I'm off to finish series 6 of Buffy; it's been in DVD limbo for the last 9 months!

ivan | 15 July 2008 - 10:37pm

I too have a problem

with the terminology used by he original poster. Surely Mr Springer meant *fit* rock chicks.

badartdog | 16 July 2008 - 8:35am

I like

Laydeez

lovelyian | 16 July 2008 - 9:38am

Oops...

I've wandered into the Fifth Form Common Room by mistake.
Sorry.

Carry on boys.

eddie g | 16 July 2008 - 2:07pm

To get things back on track!

Michelle Phillips was certainly a "Hottie"!
