BEATLES stuff we REALLY WANT (need?)

JeffLeopard's picture

At Shea Stadium (movie) - last shown on TV 1979
Let it Be (movie) - last shown on TV 1982
At the Hollywood Bowl LP - never released on CD

...but whenever did we matter, eh?
Apple should hang their collective heads in shame.

all available

from moody sources and often in pretty fine quality.

The original cut of Let It Be can be yours with about 10 hours of well synched somerimes fascinating, sometimes boring outtakes in chronological order. Totally uncommercial but great for the
fan who has everything.

Hollywood Bowl has also escaped on CD in many different guises including complate sbds of the two nights that George Martin spliced together to create the HB LP.

You find with all three it more down to a Beatle putting his size nine down on any release. They don't want a film like LIB about showing how they really didn't get on.

LIB was briefly released on Laserdisk in the 1980s

and subsequently re-authored onto DVD by some considerate soul.

It can easily be found under the usual stones in that muddy patch at the back of the Interweb.

there are reasonably good quality boots of let it be

everywhere on th web. its a fucking great film, worth it just for THE 2 OF US - the last ever time john and paul ever sang together *and at the same mic* on film. it is indeed a scandal that it's not available properly.

george comes out of it as bit of a moaner mind. not the infamous row about guitar parts with macca but during his whole 'i don't want to go up on no roof' bit before the last ever gig. thankfully they didnt listen to him.
i was dead surprised when i saw that.
