To Beard Or Not To Beard (That Is The Question)

A friend told me a great quote from Nick Cave the other night: "A man without a moustache, is like a woman with a moustache"

Cave

It does appear that some of our greatest musicians have had facial hair at some points in their career and the old nicotine stained whiskers, sometimes reflect an artist's creative output. Eg, Queen (largely okay when Freddie had a moustache,rubbish when he trimmed them off) Nick Cave is perhaps the opposite example of this.
Also, Roger Whittaker without a beard would be totally wrong and Phil Collins with a beard is not a good look either. Liam Gallager with a beard back in the nineties; not right or wrong, but an uncanny resemblence to John Lennon no doubt (with a beard).
Your thoughts please and picture evidence most welcome.

face hair

I think he's be a lot less depressed if he got the lighting sorted out.

And shaved off his woolly face hair.

Here are the rules:

Mustache = YES!
Beard = YES!
Mustache + beard = N0! Unless you're filming the Passion, can prove you are an uncle or are Jeff Bridges.
Glasses + facial hair = NO! NO! NO! NO!

Oh God...

...Gallagher Minor will be thrilled with that, won't he?
Good call with the facial hair and glasses. I always felt that the long-haired, bearded Lennon was likely to smell bad.
