So did it get better then, or did remain true to its apparent target audience? (A 'fan' asks)

Didn't see it,

was it not good?

Mixed reaction from the massive:

Personally, it didn't do it for me. But then again, I only watched 5 minutes of one episode (it was all I could stand)... it just wasn't my humour. But sounds like it got pretty impressive viewing figures, so what do I know?

I'm All For It

At least it wasn't "dark" or media-centric or inviting wry knowing smiles. It was noisy and vulgar and trouser dropping and played for the biggest broadest laughs possible. I liked it - and plainly so did the audience.

Brilliant

That's his real life wife and daughter, I think.

I hated it

but three million people liked it, so a recommission is fair enough.
I'm all for the BBC doing a range of comedy, from subtle to broad. We all pay the fee, so it's only right that they try to cater to all tastes.

Feckin' hilarious

What can I say? It makes me laugh out loud.

I love it when there's an apparent ad lib because something has gone wrong. Not sure if it's genuine or not, however it gives it a certain spark.

Mmmm...

on the strength of the clip got to say it doesn't look like my kinda thang but hey, after slagging off Comic Relief perhaps I should behave, lay low and stay pretty. To each his/her own and all that.

One ofd the worst things the Irish have given the world

since Louis Walsh and the Boyzone.

Those 'adlibs' and 'mistakes' are carefully rehearsed I am reliably informed. No-one ever went broke playing to the lowest common denominator.

It seems at the BBC comedy treating its audience with some intelligence and respect is frowned upon. Give the idiots their shit and keep em quiet. No-one has more contempt and hatred for the TV audience than the people in charge of what they see

So nah, didn't like it :-)

we've not given those things to the world...

we've just given them to you lot. As I've said before, it's revenge for Cromwell, and now't more...

*smiley thing*
