Barry Norman's Pickled Onions
Posted by the_saint on 6 April 2010 - 2:27pm.
No, not a euphemism, but clearly Bazza's lunge for the vacated Paul Newman gap in the film/food market.
Spotted them in my local Sainsbury's on Saturday; didn't buy, though, as I'm not too up on Barry Norman's food rep. Are they any good?
Has Claudia Winkleman only taken the Film 2010 chair as she plans to market her unique way with a frankfurter?

They are
fucking brilliant.
If you love pickled onions, like me, then get on board. They've got a very pleasing spicy kick to them. I fully recommend them. The FPO would probably argue otherwise
Recommendation Seconded
Had some at Christmas
Top Stuff. Best onions I've had in ages. Slightly sweet, with a powerful chilli-kick aftertaste. Great with a lump of Stilton, Extra Strong Cheddar and a Digestive Biscuit.
Ammunition
Could be useful to take a jar to the flicks to chuck at the inconsiderate noisy buggers who can't watch a film without moving their jaws up and down.I look forward to Wossies Waspberry Wipple Ice Cweam with baited breath.
I bet they stink
as bad as his film reviews *arf*
How about Kermode's Kandy Kanes?
spicy
He likes chilli so they've quite a kick. He said nobody else made them like that so "he had to make his own". They're great but still slightly inferior to the peerless Garners. (but their Red Cabbage is not that great).
"an onion thats fit for the gods"

If Mr Norman's pickled
If Mr Norman's pickled onions are made using "a closely guarded family recipe" (as it says in the Telegraph article), does that mean Bazza makes them at home? Must be cluttered in his kitchen!
Garners?
has Jim Rockford got in on the act?
Times must be hard
Just seen him in an advert for ambulance chasers.
