Not just bands

Can you imagine how hard it was trying to find info about the singer who used to be known as Nut?

The Band

The Band...

Even "The Band" always leads me to The Allman Brothers Band, for some reason. Could be worse.

Lucas Hare | 7 September 2010 - 5:16pm

Wasn't there a band called Radio 4?

I could be wrong.

0
ganglesprocket | 7 September 2010 - 2:20pm

Yes, there is/was

They had a great single called Dance to the Underground. They sound(ed) quite a lot like !!! too (see above)

Joe R | 7 September 2010 - 3:08pm

Just in case you were wondering what it meant...

...I wouldn't advise Googling 'Blonde On Blonde'.

Lucas Hare | 7 September 2010 - 2:25pm

Likewise

Big Black

maggieloveshopey | 7 September 2010 - 5:37pm

Steve Albini's next band after Big Black

And mighty fine they were too.

.

Wasn't there a band called XX Teens or something like that (quite recently too)?

But it's the one word bland names that are hard to Google - Leaves, James, Therapy.

My fave band name at the moment is 'Pulled Apart by Horses' - makes me wince just typing it.

I would have thought

The XX would have been one but nope they are easy to find (but harder to avoid)

0
DogFacedBoy | 7 September 2010 - 2:49pm

The Music

I would have thought the champions of this would be the aforementioned "The The", but Googling that string brings up as the band as first two hits. Maybe they have a fan at Google?

0
Runcible | 7 September 2010 - 2:46pm

how about?

The Goo Goo Dolls

Art Vandelay | 7 September 2010 - 2:48pm

The Very Best. Except

*reaches for listerine*

0
ivan | 7 September 2010 - 4:32pm

Doesn't putting "band"

after their name usually sort out the problem on search engines?

0
Chris G | 7 September 2010 - 3:04pm

Don't spoil the fun

0
keefus | 7 September 2010 - 3:33pm

Carl Parker | 7 September 2010 - 6:38pm

Double,

Bradford,
the word 'the' really helps a lot of bands - Cure, Doors, Streets, Jam.

0
badartdog | 7 September 2010 - 6:58pm

Fire Engines' Davey Henderson's got a lot to answer for ....

.... firstly he calls his 80s postpunk popoid outfit the letter-challenged Win. Doesn't exactly help in narrowing down the several million hits this produces.

... and now his latest outfit are called The Sexual Objects. The first single from this outfit was called 'Full Penetration', I'll give typing that into Google's search field a miss!

0
drakeygirl | 8 September 2010 - 7:25am

Not bands, but related:

The magazine Uncut.

The Monkee's movie Head.

A Melbourne band called the F**k F**ks. Although it's possible they were just looking for trouble.
