Rebellion (Lies) by Arcade Fire
There's only one set of claps, but they're AMAZING, and I'm not sure why. 3:24.
The HJH..
I Want To Hold Your Hand
I can't believe I've posted two Queen videos in 48 hours
None more clappy
Careful
Be careful dissing my Planet of the Apes obsession when you're on a hat-trick of Queen videos - only joking , I love Queen almost as much as Planet of the Apes !
Now *there* a pair of subjects for a megamix...
(if it's any consolation, I'm rather partial to a spot of pre-Hot Space Queen - it's just that round here, that sort of talk can get you into trouble...)
Teenage Kicks
has handclaps. I read a piece in Sound On Sound about The Undertones recording it and the handclaps had their own track on the masters.
Don't forget this one
by Pilot:
This comes to mind
a feelgood song if there ever was one...
Shirley Ellis
The Clapping Song
Cecilia
Simon & Garfunkel
and Mick's always prone to a clap
As shown in
'Not Fade Away.'
The Damned : Drinking About My Baby
Inexplicable video, handclaps kick in during the outro. Ace tune. National treasures.
Dancing in the City
While we're wallowing in the 70s
Two more and then I'm off to bed
As always...
The girl from Marshall Hain
Was in the Flying Lizards.
It was the bloke, actually.
Julian Marshall, ivory tinkler.
Clears throat…
It was Deborah Cunningham in The Flying Lizards, I believe. And Kit Hain in Marshall Hain.
Jesus, why the hell did I know that?
The Question Of U - Prince
There aren't many handclaps and you have to be patient (first one is at 1:45) but they are brilliant and perfectly judged. The coolest handclaps in song ever!! The sound quality of them is outstanding

The track on the album (Graffiti Bridge) immediately morphs into the next one - hence the sudden ending.
The Romantics- What I Like ABout You
EDaY...
Here's a nice one
It's got claps.
And a bass-line to make you swoon.
Not really a song...
Steve Reich - Clapping Music
Ian Matthews
(as he was then) version of Da Doo Ron Ron on 'Tigers will Survive'
lashings of handclaps
Lia Ices - Grown Unknown
This one is very good, the clapping is one of it's main features.
The Beatles...
...again.
(I Saw Her Standing There)
Joan as Police Woman
Sacred Trickster - a Sonic Youth cover version done brilliantly...
Two more
"New York Is Killing Me" is basically just claps and Gil singing.
and, as ever for me
Mos Def - "Ghetto Rock" - clapping in the video and everything
Three Dog Night...
...did this version of It's For You.
The Angels
My Boyfriend's Back
(Warning: features unco-ordinated handclapping)
YES!
I was there, you know. And I did.
Aging Hippy - The Abbey Road Session (1969)
It's not what you know.
It's not who you know.
It's where you are when someone (an Edgar Broughton Band roadie) is handing out invites to a live recording session at Abbey Road.
This is an edited down version of the track recorded that night which crept into the charts in 1970.
That's me (with others) on hand-claps and backing vocals.
Yes. I did use the zebra crossing.
I believe I also contributed hand-claps (and cheers) to a few tracks on Little Feat's "Waiting for Columbus" as well.
Great handclaps at the climax of this top tune
Lawyers Guns and Money - Warren Zevon
