Someone who totally passed me by before I recently picked up a copy of Calling Card and enjoyed it.

Irish Tour '74
Absolutely the best live recording I've ever heard. I walked into a record shop on my first day of university and it was playing. Bought it instantly and it never gets old. It's been a good friend over the years; always good after the pub when some pals are back for beers, best bonding I could ever have done with my future father in law, still guaranteed to get me air guitaring. You must, must , must listen to it.
Agree
Irish Tour for me. But "Live in Europe" is brilliant too. Incidentally, is was recorded in Luton but they thought "Live in Europe" sounded better than"Live in Luton". If you search I think there's a Rory thread with recommendations from a few months ago. BTW the "Irish Tour" movie is musically excellent but continuity wise it is dreadful. The in concert scenes don't match the music half the time, and Rory changes guitars, shirts and stages several times during songs. Rubbish.
Irish Tour 74
One of the great live albums and Rory's best
And....
I'd say "Deuce" as the best of his studio albums with more acoustic guitar and some lovely songwriting.
Seconded.
You need to get it on vinyl though. The cover was a scratch 'n' sniff that reeked of sweat, flat beer and stale fag smoke. Awesome record.
Live In Europe (1972) was always my favourite
A friend of mine describes it as "rough as fuck, like he's playing a chainsaw." Which is a fair point, but then that's what I like about it.
The version of this is one of the highlights of IT74
Tattoo is the traditional answer I think

Off down the record shop tomorrow!
Re Rory
The BBC Sessions is pretty nifty too!
There's loads of him on Youtube
so just enjoy!
Last night I came across him with Eric Burdon and David Lindley.
Without ever being flashy he's just so good to watch because he's honestly enjoying himself.
OGWT Special
See if you can seek out his performance from the OGWT. I remember seeing it when it was broadcast just after he died. I was 16 and just learning the guitar. I'd never heard of him before and just happened to turn on as it started.
Take What I Want blew me away, I was mesmerised for the rest of it!
More Rory stuff
We had a pretty good Rory thread a few months back
