ATM: burning CDs
Help! Having thought I'd discovered I could make some CDs for the London mingle on Friday, I find it's not working to plan. I've made a playlist in itunes on the Mac, and simply pressed "burn CD". the two options are MP3 Cd or Data CD. When I chose MP3 cd, I was told that only five of the tracks could be copied to CD, as the others were not in MP3 format, and there wasn't a suggested way of converting them. So I chose Data CD, which warned me that not all of the songs would play in all players. Well that's certainly true, only five of the songs play, which is very annoying. When I put the disc back into the Mac, it seems to show all 17 tracks, though not in the order which I painstakingly worked out - and I can't tell if it's playing the actual CD, or the songs from Itunes.
Can anyone walk me through a solution? I'd love to be able to bring them to the mingle.

Check your options again
There should be a third option, for Audio CD.
That's the one you want.
Ah!
What a drongo I am - I ticked Audio CD, then for some reason thought I also had to tick one or other of the other two boxes. Duh.
Thanks for that Paul, got one burning now. I assume the first two I tried can't be re-used, yes?
If I'm not too late,
Can I suggest you also tick the box that says 'Include CD Text'. (Otherwise it's a bit of a pain when you go to rip someone's CD and all that comes up is Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, etc. instead of the name of the artist and song title).
Mind you, I can't go on Friday, so it's really not going to bother me much if you don't :-)
I don't hold out much hope for the first two discs
The 'Audio CD' option is the only one that will produce something that plays in a normal CD player (rather than a Computer CD drive) I think.
One other thing to watch - and the advice below should sort - is if you have any 'Protected AAC' tracks (that you downloaded from iTunes while they were still DRM'ing) then you will get shouted at by iTunes if you try to burn more than seven(?) copies. Of course if you ripped everything from CD in the first place, or downloaded as unprotected MP3s, you'll be fine.
Advanced Settings?
Hi,
If you highlight the tracks you wish to burn. Then click on 'advanced' on the toolbar you should see 'convert to apple lossless' if you click on this then you will end up with two versions of the same song , but you can always delete afterwards if you wish.
Then just drag all the loss-less files to your burn playlist and away you go.
The point being have all your music in the same format for burning. Hope this helps.
