At last - my very own Word claim to fame!

Lando Cakes's picture

Just started reading this issue and have been struck by the sudden realisation that...I have been interviewed by Kate Mossman's dad.

Top that pop-pickers.

Good guy too.

You need to read the new issue

very carefully :-)

stimpy | 10 November 2009 - 9:44am

Do you work

in the field of potatoes?

0
Captain Underpants | 10 November 2009 - 9:07am

He ploughs his own furrow,

I think.

0
Andrew Harrison | 10 November 2009 - 9:57am

When I heard Embraman worked in the chip industry

I assumed he meant Intel.

0
stimpy | 10 November 2009 - 10:12am

Running gags

He ploughs his own furrow, I think.

Hoe, hoe, hoe - very witty...

Reno Dakota | 10 November 2009 - 11:45am

Horse laughter

from me.

Repositioning proposal

Potato Review is certainly a descriptive title for a magazine that specialises in reviewing potatoes, but we feel it may lack the immediacy required to attract the non-committed.

The title should be short and snappy, yet intriguing, promising more within. It should maintain all the core values of potatoness while taking it one step further into the new millennium....

Proposed rebranding: iSpud Pro

0
Archie Valparaiso | 10 November 2009 - 12:51pm

Not sexy enough

It might bring in the geek demographic, but it'll never appeal to the kids.

I propose Ministry of Spud.

0
Fraser Lewry | 10 November 2009 - 12:57pm

Or even

NuSpud. (I do think an internal cap is required to zing it up a bit.)

An alternative, of course, would be to go in completely the other direction, with a retro feel: The Tatty Times

0
Archie Valparaiso | 10 November 2009 - 1:24pm

The Tatyler?

0
Captain Underpants | 10 November 2009 - 1:45pm

The New Spudsman?

0
stimpy | 10 November 2009 - 3:27pm

Shoots 'n' Roots?

.

0
Baskerville Old Face | 10 November 2009 - 3:40pm

To give it that Heat magazine sizzle

it has to be “Hot Potato!”, strapline “Spuds-U-Like (and those you don’t!!!)”

stimpy | 10 November 2009 - 1:10pm

For the youth vote...

I've always thought that 'king Edward might have the necessary edge.

And for those of more racy, yet discrete, tastes, there's always the subtle Kerr's Pink.

Potato Review

It's certainly got appeal!

The "eyes" have it, I'll wager...

0
Baskerville Old Face | 10 November 2009 - 1:18pm

I wonder if Potato Review do jackets

amongst their merch range?

0
stimpy | 10 November 2009 - 1:21pm

So, Kate’s dad’s in the reviewing game too

She’s a chip off the old block.

0
Richard Lowe | 10 November 2009 - 1:27pm

A musical connection

Mossman snr played the tuber for vivaldi*

*look it up. I did.

0

The brilliant Lonnie Donegan also did a version for his album "Puttin' On The Style" in 1978 with (I believe) Brian May on lead guitar.

0
Baskerville Old Face | 10 November 2009 - 6:00pm

Excellent

A good Record - but you may prefer something more Up-to-date (that's enough potato varieties Ed.)

A very good run of potato puns all round - well done all.

Lando Cakes | 10 November 2009 - 6:51pm
