As usual, Emma Bunton is the answer

Sheev's picture

Look, I think it's a great song. Classic pop.

Eh? There's a video as well? Oh, I hadn't really noticed

2

She is very resourceful isn't she?

Just imagine how many badges she'll be able to sew on her girl guide uniform after surviving for a whole night in the desert like that.
An inspiration to us all.

The "Baby"

grew up didn't she? She was on Dancing On Ice the other night and age seems to be doing no harm at all.
I think that video should be posted on the current drinking thread because any stress I might have felt after work was washed away after watching that. A jug of "Buntons Original" anyone? Thanks Sheev!

Dave Amitri | 1 February 2010 - 8:55pm

It's the best Spice/associated song isn't it?

..flawless pop.

0
shane pacey | 1 February 2010 - 10:23pm

Yes - think so

although this one is pretty nice too

And this time the video doesn't even seem to match the song. I know because I checked. Twice.

0
Sheev | 1 February 2010 - 11:07pm

Sheev.

You'll go blind. Stop it.

0
Lenny Law | 1 February 2010 - 11:13pm

I'd go for this as the best Spice-y song

Should've been a Bond theme.

0
Remote Control | 2 February 2010 - 6:24pm

no distance left to run...

... between pop vids, soft porn and lap dancing ... time to laminate the computer keyboards...

Is it possible to

be unfaithful online?

0
Dave Amitri | 2 February 2010 - 8:59pm

Is that David Beckham in the truck?

Victoria won't be pleased.

0
Thomas the Rhymer | 2 February 2010 - 9:56pm

I think

this is even better...

1
KDH | 1 February 2010 - 10:40pm

Woah - hang on

She covered 'Downtown' didn't she? Somethings simply cannot be forgiven.

0
badartdog | 1 February 2010 - 10:46pm

But...

it was for charideeee *sigh*

0
Ma Baker | 2 February 2010 - 1:06am

Is that the Tom Waits one..

..or the Neil Young one?

1
shane pacey | 1 February 2010 - 11:03pm

Sometimes - Sharleen Spiteri and Texas is the answer

for a bit of classic pop

Yes - there is a video

0
Sheev | 1 February 2010 - 11:14pm

...

"Fucksake big man, this fucken bridge is mair lang than ah thoat it wiz, kenwhitahmean? An ye cannae stoap at that garage no, 'cause ah the neds'll throw fucken bricks at yer motar. Goat ony Buckie? Ah wis a stylist wance, no ah wiz. Whit's that fucken helicoaptur daen therr, this isnae fucken Aiberdeen, ken. An' yer driver's hat's pure dead evil man..."

Glenbervie | 1 February 2010 - 11:31pm

Are you

Irvine Welsh?

0
prezbo | 2 February 2010 - 9:12pm

Irvine Welsh wrote in Edinburghian

the above was more Glaswegian; totally different

0
Glenbervie | 2 February 2010 - 10:28pm

Point of order.

Glaswegians don't say 'ken'. Not quite sure what point you were making anyway Glenbervie - Sharleen Spiteri, by virtue of being Glaswegian, is a buckie-swilling ned?

0
DougieJ | 2 February 2010 - 11:19pm

there was no point

it was more of an aimless meander that popped into my head

0
Glenbervie | 3 February 2010 - 11:23am

Fair do's

I was just being a chippy Weegie. Well, East Kilbridian...;-)

0
DougieJ | 3 February 2010 - 3:01pm

This is nice as well.

I always thought its quality was cheapened somewhat by its rib-tickling Peter Kay video so I posted this live version instead:

0
DougieJ | 2 February 2010 - 10:13pm

It is a jolly good little pop tune. Emma's, not Sharleen's.

Wasn't the vid rumoured to have been doctored in post to lengthen her legs? I have watched it several times to check and can't tell.

Mind you, I might have to check Ms. Spiteri's vid as well a couple of times. Just to make sure there's been no jiggery-pokery.

0
Lenny Law | 1 February 2010 - 11:18pm

I'd rather hear Professor Snape..

..sing it meself.

0
shane pacey | 1 February 2010 - 11:15pm

Whaaat TF!

Is this the blog for The Word or OK magazine?

Calm down calm down (la). Have some good ole rocking to bring you to your senses.

0
Beany | 1 February 2010 - 11:20pm

i utterly utterly utterly fookin'

love that song. I've always been a sucker for close harmonies, mind...

0
ivan | 2 February 2010 - 1:42am

A couple of Britneys

rhyming slang y'know - for beers.

The best version of this song is by Bobby Brown. It's interesting to hear a female take on it. I've posted two videos of this version to enable academic analysis.

Spice solo songs

are always on Spar radio when I'm in there. I heard this twice there last week:

The song is sort of laughable but, as the queue in Spar proved, it's difficult not to sing along.

0
Ma Baker | 2 February 2010 - 1:03am

There's a

Spar radio?!

0
Davy H | 2 February 2010 - 3:06pm

Yes. How have you managed to

Yes. How have you managed to get on with life without it? It's on in every Spar, I didn't put it on to listen to around the house. Hero by Bonnie Tyler was on today.

(Yes I go to Spar a lot)

0
Ma Baker | 2 February 2010 - 10:19pm

I would like to point out

that I LOVE Emma Bunton. She was my first celebrity crush and will forever hold a special place in my heart.

0
Joe R | 2 February 2010 - 8:26am

Who will be the first to post a Posh Spice song?

I presume she had a solo career.

This is an excellent song.

0
Cookieboy | 2 February 2010 - 9:21am

Go on, then...

Rightly kept off the No. 1 spot by this:-

0
Paolo Meccano | 2 February 2010 - 1:45pm

"This tune's gonna punish you"

she warns us - at the end. Cheers, Victoria!

0
stuartpwilson | 2 February 2010 - 4:36pm

First Post-Spice and the best by a country mile.........

Brilliant and everso slightly bonkers. I bet she's a right good laugh. (Met Posh and she wasn't)

0
Six Dog | 2 February 2010 - 3:20pm

Guys, guys... yes it is all guys !

I think we all have far too much time on hands at the moment.

Lets all go and do something educational and uplifting.

Although those first couple of videos were rather pleasant to view.

Sorry

Nothing beats this...

0
Kenny.Boz | 2 February 2010 - 10:51pm

Well, they're called Sister Act

- they're from Sweden and yes there's a video. What else do you need to know? Is the song any good? Not really. Your point is?

0
Sheev | 2 February 2010 - 11:41pm

While we're at it....

The best Sclub7 song

Spice Girls? why have the imitation

when you can have the original*, still looking as good 20 years on as she did in her heyday

(*Apparently the original ad for the Spice Girls was "Wanted - five Betty Boo's for new girl band")
