Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti

Apologies if this has already been recommended but a surprisingly good album - mix of psych/power/70s FM and just plain weird. Good tunes and good for the summer too
Here's one track but there are all different

Seconded
This is his first properly recorded work, the rest being murky, home taped affairs. He pretty much defined a whole genre of strange, echoey monophonic pop (chillwave, glo-fi, whatever). Its nice to hear his songwriting given a more traditional studio production. Still f--kin bonkers tho. You need this album Massive!
This lady
does something very similar with 80s dance-pop:
Like Ariel Pink, it's sort of creepy-sounding, and the faux-naif aspect of it has the potential to be irritating, but somehow they pull it off.
I think they may be part of the same LA circle of artists...
Just been listening to this Ariel chap
on Spotify.
As a result of recommendation by Cathal Coughlan, no less.
Bit mad, in a good way. Worthy of attention, massive.
It's OK
but it was nothing near as good as the reviews said.
To me, most of it is good background music, but nothing leaps out and makes me go WOW - I have to hear that again!
Maybe I just expected too much...
Never trust anything called 'chillwave' or 'glo-fi'
At least it wasn't (something)core
