Are You Ready Steve? Uh Huh.

Dick Grant's picture

One thing which has me grinning like a charlie when I hear it is the band introduction at the start of a song. The first I was aware of was of course Ballroom Blitz by The Sweet which is where the title of this post originates. I then discovered to my delight that Matt Johnson does it with heavy irony on Armageddon Days - "Are you ready Jesus, Buddha" etc.

It Comes in at around 25 seconds.
Finally the start of Bootylicious By Destiny's Child .

Does anyone have any more examples?
By way am I the only 48 year old male who loves to sing "I don't think you're ready fo' this jelly"
Yes?
Oh dear.

Really?!

I had no idea. Lyrics are always revealing themselves to me, but that one could have remained unknown to me forever.

I only just found out Chrissie Hynde was 'gonna use my sidestep', rather than senses.

When the sun beats down and I lie on the bench I can always hear them talk...

"There's always been ethel"

What did God give us Neil?

"In ancient times

Hundreds of years before the dawn of history
Lived a strange race of people
The Druids

No one knows who they were... or what they were doing
But their legacy remains
Hewn into the living rock
Of Stonehenge"
