I appreciate the effort and good intentions of the sharers, but with so much off-the-board live material of most artists available these days, probably of Springsteen more than anyone (including God knows how many official live CD and DVD releases now - and even quite a lot of stuff from this tour), I'm amazed that people persist with making and releasing bootleg recordings of such ridiculously bad quality. The poor sod must have got on the bus home, excitedly plugged in his earbuds and gone "Oh".
as an aural keepsake, maybe. Otherwise, just go to the official site. There you'll find hi-def videos in stereo of, from various different gigs on the Magic tour (you'll need a Quicktime compatible player, but otherwise they're free):
Because the Night (including that steaming Nils guitar solo)
So Young and In Love
Detroit Medley
Incident on 57th Street
Darkness on the Edge of Town
For You
Point Blank
Trapped
You'll Be Comin' Down
Spirit in the Night
The Ghost of Tom Joad (w/ Tom Morello)
Sandy (Danny Federici's final performance)
After that little lot, you'll get a much better idea of what this tour is about, I reckon. I'm not anti-bootlegs when they're freely exchanged by fans rather than sold for profit, by the way. I'm just anti-crap sound.
but I was there so it's a nice thing to have, especially as the sound quality really isn't too bad. I was there with my younger brother - his first Springsteen gig - so just chuffed to have a record of the event to be honest. A day to remember for sure!
... but not anyone else
