Anyone want to play "Top Tracks" ?

Simon Moffatt's picture

Here's a new game I'm calling Top Tracks. This is how it works:
I give you five artists from different eras and you have to guess what their top-listened track is according to last.fm.

Here's the five:
1) Chuck Berry
2) The Kinks
3) Blondie
4) Stone Roses
5) Fatboy Slim

Now, make a mental note of what you reckon their top song is and I'll tell you the answer in the next post of the thread.

...and here are the answers...

Here are the top threes for each artist. Score 3, 2 and 1 point for your guesses, giving a maximum possible score of 15.

Chuck Berry
1st Johnny B. Goode
2nd Roll Over Beethoven
3rd Maybellene

The Kinks
1st A Well Respected Man
2nd You Really Got Me
3rd Lola

Blondie
1st Heart of Glass
2nd Call Me
3rd One Way or Another

Stone Roses
1st I Wanna Be Adored
2nd She Bangs the Drums
3rd Waterfall

Fatboy Slim
1st Praise You
2nd The Rockafeller Skank
3rd Right Here, Right Now

I would guess

that it's because A Well Respected Man is on the soundtrack to the film Juno. I'd also guess that soundtrack album has far more plays on last.fm than any Kinks album you'd care to mention.

I got the

stone Roses all 3 but not in same order. I didnt get any Kinks and really cannot believe Waterloo Sunset isn't in there.
